Pre-crimped woven wire mesh

We manufacture woven wire meshes in multifaceted variants for sifting, protecting, carrying, decorating, and for many other applications. There are both technically and optically interesting grid types apart from the generally known double and lock crimped meshes.

Woven wire meshes are manufactured from pre-crimped wires. The wires are either crimped with crimper wheels before the weaving or, especially in the case of thick wires, crimped in a pressing process. The kind of crimping determines the type of weave. ISO 4783/3 describes the standard types of weave.

The respective crimping tools (crimper wheels/press tools) must be on hand. Dorstener Drahtwerke has tools
available for all standard dimensions. Should we have to make tools, this can be done within a few days.

Are costs of primary importance, woven wire meshes are made from iron wire and galvanised wire. If corrosion or heat resistance are required, stainless steels such as 1.4301, 1.4401, 1.4841 or others are used. Abrasive sifting materials require the employment of spring steel. A summary of the properties of the different materials can be found in our PDF: Materials.

Forms of delivery:

The requested width and length of the wire meshes are either woven or cut from warehouse goods. The maximum width is 2,000 mm. The length can be chosen as required. For logistic reasons however, for wires with a diameter of more than 3.0 mm, it should not be much more than 3,000 mm.
